Intermittent Reciprocating Linear Motion from Uniform Rotary Motion
Return to the table.
The example mechanism converts a uniform rotary motion into an intermittent reciprocating motion. The full linear travel is accomplished in 30 degrees of travel of the input, followed by a 30 degree delay before returning. The reciprocating cycle is completed three times per revolution of the input.
Some design notes describing the geometric arrangement are provided here.
